Start of Mid Term Break..

Mid term break is finally here! o_O but I won't really call this holiday week a break. Well, to begin with, I have loads of stuff to do this week. There's Management Accounting project to be done and we would have to find a company soon or we are doomed, I would have to plan a session for the youth in my church, and I will have to be ready for next term because more tests and project deadlines are coming up.. =_=

Went to my Formal Western Dining today for my Finishing Touch class and it was lots of fun. We had a practice networking sessions, some games and activites, and also the food was not bad at all for S$20 that I paid for the session. I must admit I was pretty nervous in the beginning at stabbing peas at first (the stupid peas kept on jumping away from my fork whenever I try to stab them) and it was also quite a challenge to eat the soup because you actually have to bring the spoon to your mouth (yes, I am not a very civilized person so most of the time, I eat soup like I drink water out of a glass). I had a slight back pain too because I have to keep my posture straight all the time. @_@ but overall, it was a great experience and would have been better if there were more food served :p

Just finished watching Kimi wa Petto! today. Now I'm left with no drama to watch again =.=.. Been seeing lots of Matsumoto Jun from Arashi recently. I guess he's entertaining to watch, but after seeing 3 dramas that he acted in as the lead actor back to back, no offence but I think I would throw up (don't know why) if I see another one with him in it. Haha.. better stay away from him for now. I'll probably find dramas with pretty girls this time :]

Nobuta wo Produce (野ブタ。をプロデュース)

Kiritani Shuji is the popular guy who gets along with everyone, from the jerks to the nerds to the just plain weird. The one person Shuji cannot stand is Kusano Akira. To Shuji, Akira is just plain annoying. He laughs, talks and acts funny. Things heat up when a new student comes to school. Her name is Kotani Nobuko, a girl who has no self confidence at all and is content at being made fun of and bullied in school. Shuji and Akira come to an accord that in order to make use of their "youth" they will "produce" Nobuko as the next popular girl. One of the conditions, however, is that nobody should find out that they are working together as a team to make this concept possible. Unveiled here is the story of true friendship between three unlikely candidates who would not have been friends if not given the special circumstances.

Saturday, October 6, 2007

Saturday's gone and Sunday's come.

Went to Queensway shopping centre to buy a new pair of shoes. I was going to buy a pair that fits my feet perfectly, but I think I actually managed to buy bigger one than the one I had before o_O.. Also bought a pair of sandals to replace the old one.

Watched English Premier League just now, between Manchester United and Wigan Athletics. Glad that the second half was far more exciting than the first, with Man U back to winning form by crushing Wigan 4 - 0. Probably gonna watch more matches tomorrow, since holiday's started and I can stay up a bit later than normal.

During dinner, my parents said that one of my cousins in Indonesia is having a difficult time trying to find some money for her tertiary education. She is currently in final year of her Singapore's Junior College equivalent. In Indonesia, studying in a university costs around 50 million rupiah for the first term ( 1 SGD = 6000 IDR), and around 30 million for each of the remaining 3 years. This is excluding money for living costs, study trips, and study materials. So in total, she would need around 200 million for her 4 years of tertiary education. That is equivalent to around 35 thousand Singapore dollars.

For some of us, we have that amount of money saved by our parents for our education, and we would not really make such a big deal because we expect our parents to have saved that amount of money for our university. However, looking from the perspective from my cousin, she is going through a lot of pain because her parents can't afford that amount of money. Moreover, she wants to be a Doctor, so that would cost more money than a normal undergraduate in other faculties. Her parents earns around two to three million rupiahs a month, which is equivalent to around 500 Singapore dollars a month, which is in no way enough to pay for her school fee.

Hearing this from my parents makes me feel very lucky that I have been blessed with the luxury of having parents that can afford to pay for my school fee and my expenses. Comparing myself with my cousin, I feel darn guilty that I am not doing the best that I should be doing. My cousins has a great ambition of becoming a Doctor, yet she is faced with the reality that she might not be able to fulfill her dreams because of financial reasons, but looking at myself as someone who has the financial support from my parents to pursue my studies, it would almost look like a crime against humanity that I am wasting so much time that other people are dying to have. Well, I hope I could get my acts together and start doing something worthwhile in my life, so as to not disappoint my parents, and hopefully, become someone that can help others both socially and financially.

Friggin Friday..!

Hooray! Friday at last... =.= Just came home from my Japanese conversation class in Bugis. Yeap, after 10 years since the last time I spoke a single word of Japanese, I am learning it again. The class is pretty fun, except that I would have to sacrifice my Friday night when I could have gone out instead. But I don't have a girlfriend or anything so it doesn't really actually matters =_=..

Went around Bugis during the day to find a nice formal shoes for my Formal Western Dining. Walked around for 2 hours but didn't really find a pair that I like, so I decided to go to Raffles City to eat at SushiTei... Ate bowl tendon, a plate of salmon belly, a plate of maguro, a plate of salmon, and a plate of salmon skin. Spent S$27.50 o_O..

Took the number 33 bus to go home and the driver was speeding like crazy. Normally, journey home would take me 1 hour, but I reached home within 30 minutes. I swear the driver was out to kill someone on the street or he was having a bad day..

Still have many things left to do for the weekend. Firstly, I have to think of a business plan for competition as a part of Venture club. Then, I would have to meet up with some people from my church to discuss about song writing for Christmas. On monday, I have my Formal Western Dining and Management Accounting meeting at 1 pm. Err... @#$&!! AND I have piano lesson tomorrow and I have not done the homework @_@.. sian..

Holiday is coming!

Just had my final mid term exam today. Management Accounting is harder than I thought it would be. Wasnt really confident of my answers, but I guess I can just barely make it. I hope that my last-minute-studying-one-day-before-exam-but-played-dota-instead-and-ended-up-only-studying-for-4-hours helped.

The only thing left to do this term is the upcoming Formal Western Dining for my Finishing Touch module. When that's done, my holiday officially starts. Woopie. Don't really have plans for the holiday but I guess I'll just spend my day watching drama.

Here's some jokes to lighten up your day:

Diver Meets Guy Underwater
(Taken from http://www.comedycentral.com/)

One day, a diver was enjoying the aquatic world 20 feet below sea level. He noticed a guy at the same depth he was, with no scuba gear on whatsoever. The diver went below another 10 feet, but the guy joined him a minute later. The diver went below 15 more feet, and a minute later, the same guy joined him. This confused the diver, so he took out a waterproof pad and pencil, and wrote, "Amazing! How are you able to stay this deep down without equipment?" The guy took the pencil and pad, erased what the diver had written, and wrote, "I'm drowning, you moron!"

Working On The Fourth Husband
(Taken from
www.ComedyCentral.com)

A woman announces to her friend that she is getting married for the fourth time. "How wonderful! But I hope you don't mind me asking what happened to your first husband?"
"He ate poisonous mushrooms and died."
"Oh, how tragic! What about your second husband?"
"He ate poisonous mushrooms too and died."
"Oh, how terrible! I'm almost afraid to ask you about your third husband."
"He died of a broken neck."
"A broken neck?"
"He wouldn't eat the mushrooms."

Le Parfumerie y le Blonde
(Taken from

One day two blondes walk into a perfume shop. The one blonde picks up a bottle of perfume that is titled "Viens Chez Moi."
The blonde asks the manager what it means, and the manager says it means, "Come to Me."

It's just another Monday

Just came home from a long day at school. Did my Ethics mid term at 1.45, and after that ate lunch and played dota till 7. Went to Ventures meeting afterwards to discuss about business plans for the upcoming competition. After the meeting, played more dota till 11 and went home. Sigh. What a boring day it was.

It's Tuesday tomorrow and it's gonna be another boring day. I have Business Process class at 3:30 till 6:45. Another Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. Lim (not real name), who likes to say the word "kay" after the end of each sentence. Well, at least she was better than my previous prof, who sprinkles her oral juice all over the place when she talks, and when she smiles, I can't help but to think of a sasquatch. Getting back the test that we did 2 weeks ago. Hope I didn't screw it up.
